Fresh pressure has mounted on the Federal Government and security agencies following the deadly attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, as the Senate, Yoruba socio-political leaders, and civil society groups demanded immediate action to rescue abducted students and teachers still in captivity. Public outrage intensified after emotional distress videos of some kidnapped victims surfaced online, showing them pleading for urgent intervention from authorities and Nigerians. 
The attack occurred when heavily armed gunmen invaded Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele, Baptist Nursery and Primary School, and L.A. Primary School in the Ogbomoso Yawota axis during school hours. According to reports, the assailants killed Assistant Headmaster Joel Adesiyan and also shot dead a commercial motorcyclist who reportedly resisted attempts to seize his motorcycle. In one of the viral videos, the principal of Community High School, Mrs. Alamu, alongside teacher Temitope Mary Dahunsi and other captives, appealed emotionally to the Federal Government, Oyo State Government, and well-meaning Nigerians to secure their release. 
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde later confirmed that seven teachers were abducted during the attack while the exact number of missing pupils was still being verified. The governor disclosed that security agencies had already arrested several suspects and persons of interest connected to the incident, adding that investigations suggested local collaborators may have assisted the attackers. He also revealed that an Islamic Studies teacher was killed during the invasion, further worsening fears across the affected communities. 
The crisis deepened further after reports emerged that one of the abducted teachers, Michael Oyedokun, had allegedly been beheaded by the kidnappers in another disturbing video circulated online. The development sparked protests among teachers in parts of Oriire Local Government Area, with demonstrators demanding stronger security for schools and immediate rescue operations for the remaining victims. Yoruba leaders and security stakeholders have since warned that rising bandit attacks in the South-West could escalate further if urgent and coordinated measures are not implemented to tackle the growing insecurity threatening schools and rural communities across the region.
