Four serving members of the House of Representatives from Imo State have lost their bids to secure return tickets during the All Progressives Congress primaries held across the state ahead of the 2027 general elections. The primaries, conducted using the Option A4 voting system, produced several major upsets as new candidates emerged in multiple federal constituencies. 
Among the lawmakers who lost their tickets are Chike Okafor, Princess Miriam Onuoha, and Harrison Nwadike, all of whom were defeated by rival aspirants during the APC primaries. The exercise covered all 10 federal constituencies in Imo State and reflected growing internal competition within the ruling party as political alignments intensify ahead of 2027. 
Despite the losses suffered by several incumbents, some lawmakers successfully retained their tickets. Those who survived the primaries include Canice Moore Nwachukwu Omeogo for Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency, Eugene Dibiagwu for Oguta/Ohaji-Egbema/Oru West, Akarachi Amadi for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru, and Tochukwu Okere for Owerri Federal Constituency. 
Other candidates who emerged from the APC primaries include Ngozi Pat-Ekeji for Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala, Chukwudi Anyanwuocha for Ahiazu/Ezinihitte, Sandra Inyama for Ideato Federal Constituency, and Cosmos Maduba, who defeated Harrison Nwadike in the Nkwerre/Nwangele/Isu/Njaba contest. 
The outcome of the primaries is expected to reshape the political landscape in Imo State ahead of the 2027 elections, with analysts predicting fresh alliances, possible defections, and renewed competition within both the APC and opposition parties in the Southeast.
