The Enugu State Police Command has arrested a wanted armed robbery suspect during a series of intelligence-led operations carried out by operatives of the Anti-Cultism Sub-Unit attached to the Violent Crime Response Unit. The command also recovered a stolen vehicle, motorcycles, hard drugs, mobile phones, and other exhibits linked to criminal activities across the state. 
According to the police spokesperson, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the suspect, a 34-year-old man whose identity was withheld, was apprehended on April 30 at Amagu-Ugwu Road in the Amechi Awkunanaw area of Enugu. Police authorities said the suspect had long been on the command’s wanted list over alleged involvement in armed robbery operations within the state. 
Ndukwe explained that the arrest followed sustained surveillance and intelligence gathering by the VCRU operatives. In a separate operation conducted on May 6 around the Nkwubor axis of Emene, police officers reportedly raided a suspected drug base after receiving credible intelligence. A suspected drug dealer identified as “Doc” allegedly fled the scene on sighting the operatives, abandoning a red Mate 90 motorcycle and other incriminating materials. 
The police command stated that investigations are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects connected to the recovered exhibits and criminal activities in the state. Authorities also reiterated their commitment to strengthening security operations against armed robbery, cultism, drug trafficking, and other violent crimes across Enugu State.
