Lagos lawmaker and Nollywood actor Desmond Elliot has publicly apologised to Femi Gbajabiamila over what he described as possible misunderstandings that may have occurred during recent political events in Lagos. Elliot made the apology during an appearance on TVC’s Your View programme on Friday, stressing that any offence caused was unintentional.

According to Elliot, Gbajabiamila played a major role in shaping his political career, describing him as both a mentor and elder brother. During the interview, he said, “To err is human, to forgive is divine. So I’m sorry, my daddy, if I’ve offended you in any way.” He also apologised to what he called the “matriarch of Surulere,” while insisting he remained committed to strengthening the All Progressives Congress and serving his constituency.

The apology comes months after tensions linked to the Lagos State House of Assembly leadership crisis involving former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa. Gbajabiamila had earlier revealed that he nearly lost his position as Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu because of intelligence reports allegedly linking Elliot to moves surrounding the Assembly crisis — allegations Elliot reportedly denied.

Despite the controversy, Elliot maintained that he remains focused on his political ambitions and constituency projects. The Surulere lawmaker is currently seeking a fourth term in the Lagos State House of Assembly, although his bid has reportedly faced opposition from some APC stakeholders backing former Lagos State aide Barakat Odunuga-Bakare for the seat.
