The Kano State Police Command has arrested two additional suspects in connection with the violent attack on the popular Farm Centre GSM Market in Kano, bringing the crackdown on those linked to the incident to a new stage. The command also confirmed that seven suspects have now been arraigned before Magistrate Court No. 2 in Nomansland, Kano, over their alleged roles in the disturbance. 
According to the police spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna, the newly arrested suspects were identified as Sadiq Ayuba, 18, from Darmanawa Quarters, and Abdulganiyu Abba, 38, from Mariri Quarters in Kano. Investigators said intelligence-led operations led to their arrest following continued investigations into the April 28 attack on the busy phone market, where hoodlums reportedly assaulted traders, customers, and attacked parts of the entourage of businessman and politician A. A. Zaura. 
Police disclosed that during interrogation, one of the suspects allegedly confessed that he and others were mobilised and paid by an individual identified as “Mallam Hassan,” who remains at large, to carry out the attack. The seven suspects already arraigned are facing charges including criminal conspiracy, unlawful assembly, inciting public disturbance, possession of dangerous weapons, and mischief. Authorities said investigations are ongoing to identify additional sponsors and fleeing suspects connected to the violence. 
The Farm Centre GSM Market is one of Kano’s largest mobile phone and electronics trading hubs, and the attack caused panic among traders and residents when armed youths stormed the area in broad daylight. The Kano State Police Command has reiterated its warning against thuggery and “Yan Daba” activities, stressing that anyone involved in violent crimes or attempts to disrupt public peace in the state would be arrested and prosecuted.
