The senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has officially submitted her Peoples Democratic Party senatorial nomination forms in Abuja, formally confirming her intention to seek re-election in the 2027 National Assembly elections. The lawmaker arrived at the PDP national secretariat alongside supporters and political associates as preparations for the party primaries intensify. 
Speaking after submitting the forms, Akpoti-Uduaghan thanked her constituents and party members for their continued support, describing her re-election bid as a mission to sustain “purposeful representation” and deepen development across Kogi Central. She stated that her focus remains on infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and economic opportunities for communities within the district. 
The senator also said her political journey was driven by service rather than personal ambition, promising to continue advocating for inclusion, accountability, and democratic values if re-elected. Since entering the Senate, Akpoti-Uduaghan has become one of the most vocal lawmakers in the National Assembly, drawing national attention through her interventions on governance issues and her prolonged political clashes with Senate leadership figures. 
Her re-election ambition is expected to trigger a major contest in Kogi Central, particularly with growing speculation that former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello may contest the seat under the ruling APC platform. Political activities have continued to intensify across Kogi State as parties position themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
