A coalition of Christian leaders and political stakeholders in Kwara State has declared support for the re-election bid of President Bola Tinubu and endorsed Kwara Central Senator, Saliu Mustapha, for the state governorship ahead of the 2027 general elections. The endorsement was announced during an interdenominational prayer gathering organised by Christian Leaders in Politics in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. 
Speaking at the event, President of the Christian Leaders Fellowship, Pastor Abel Aiyedogbon, described Mustapha as a politician who has maintained a cordial and inclusive relationship with the Christian community in the state. According to him, the gathering was not only meant for prayers but also for reflection and consultation as political activities intensify ahead of the APC primaries and the 2027 elections. 
The Christian leaders said their support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition was based on what they described as the administration’s efforts toward national development and political inclusion. They also argued that Mustapha possesses the leadership qualities needed to succeed Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and continue ongoing developmental projects in Kwara State. 
The endorsement adds to the growing political alignments already emerging in Kwara ahead of 2027, with several groups and political blocs publicly declaring support for preferred aspirants months before party primaries officially begin.
