The African Democratic Congress has officially released its timetable for the 2026 primary elections, setting its presidential nomination form at ₦100 million as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections. The announcement, made by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, outlines a structured schedule covering nomination, screening, appeals, and final primaries. 
According to the timetable, the sale of forms will run from May 5 to May 10, followed by submission between May 11 and May 13. Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 14–15, with results expected on May 17 and appeals handled between May 18 and 19. The final list of cleared candidates will be released on May 20, setting the stage for the commencement of primaries across all levels. 
Primary elections will begin on May 21 for legislative positions, followed by governorship primaries on May 22, while the presidential primary is fixed for May 25, 2026.  The ₦100 million price tag places ADC’s presidential ticket in line with major parties like the APC, highlighting the growing financial stakes in Nigeria’s electoral process.
Party officials say the timetable reflects a commitment to internal democracy, transparency, and orderly candidate selection, even as analysts note that the high cost of forms may limit participation to well-funded aspirants. The development comes amid ongoing political realignments and leadership tensions within the party, making the upcoming primaries a critical test of its unity and readiness for 2027.
