A member of the House of Representatives, James Faleke, has obtained the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination and expression of interest forms on behalf of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, formally kickstarting his re-election process for 2027.
The forms, reportedly costing ₦100 million, were presented at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja by the APC National Organising Secretary, marking the official commencement of the party’s internal process ahead of its presidential primary. Faleke, who is also a longtime ally and founder of the Tinubu Support Group, said the move reflects growing backing for the president’s second-term ambition.
This development comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general elections, with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) already outlining timelines for primaries and campaigns. Analysts say the early purchase of forms signals that Tinubu’s camp is moving quickly to consolidate support within the APC ahead of what is expected to be a competitive race.
