Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore publicly mocked former Attorney-General Abubakar Malami during a court appearance at the Federal High Court Abuja, in a moment that quickly went viral.
During the exchange, Sowore told Malami that he was now experiencing the same justice system he once defended while in government. He said, “You see how it feels now to be persecuted… we warned you there was failure in the system, but you didn’t listen, and now the system is dealing with you.” 
The confrontation also included a symbolic gesture, as Sowore offered Malami what he called a “revolutionary cap,” reinforcing his criticism of the system and the former minister’s past role in it. 
The incident is tied to Malami’s ongoing legal battles, including cases linked to alleged financial misconduct, which he is contesting in court.  Sowore used the moment to highlight what he described as deep flaws in Nigeria’s justice system, arguing that those flaws now affect both critics and former powerful officials alike.
