The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has banned all unauthorised screening of aspirants ahead of the 2027 elections, warning that anyone who violates the directive will face strict sanctions. The decision was announced after a stakeholders’ meeting in Abeokuta, where party leaders emphasized that only the official state structure has the authority to conduct screening exercises. 
Party officials cautioned members at the local government level to stop premature screening activities and wait for formal guidelines from the state leadership. They stressed that any individual or group attempting to bypass the process would be disciplined, as the party seeks to maintain order and credibility in its primary election process. 
In addition, the party raised concerns over possible financial misconduct, warning that funds recently released to ward and local government leaders must be used strictly for party meetings and not diverted. The move is seen as part of broader efforts by the APC to ensure transparency, discipline, and internal control as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
