\n\nThe Nigeria Police Force in Ogun State has dismissed a widely circulated video claiming that armed bandits are operating in Ogun forests, describing it as false and misleading. 
According to the police, investigations revealed that the footage did not originate from Ogun State or even Nigeria. Instead, it was identified as recycled content from Kenya, where it was originally recorded during an operation against cattle rustlers. 
Authorities explained that the video, which shows individuals in a forest environment, was first uploaded online in 2022 and has now been repackaged with a false narrative to create fear among Nigerians. 
The Commissioner of Police stressed that there is no intelligence or operational report confirming the presence of bandits in Ogun forests, urging residents to remain calm and ignore the misinformation. 
Officials also warned that spreading unverified content can cause unnecessary panic and undermine public confidence, advising people to rely only on official security updates and report any real suspicious activity to authorities. 
The viral video is fake and misleading there is no confirmed bandit activity in Ogun forests, according to police.
