\n\nA Nigerian national, Olatunde Abiodun Olusanjo, has been arrested in the United States and is currently facing deportation proceedings over multiple sexual offence convictions.
According to reports, the 53-year-old was taken into custody in Los Angeles on April 21, 2026, by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), specifically its Enforcement and Removal Operations unit. 
Authorities said the arrest is linked to his previous criminal record, which includes offences such as child molestation, sexual battery, and soliciting lewd conduct. These past convictions were a major factor in ICE’s decision to detain him and initiate deportation. 
ICE officials emphasised that individuals with serious criminal histories are prioritised for removal, noting that the action is part of efforts to protect public safety and enforce immigration laws. The suspect is currently being held in custody while legal processes for his deportation continue. 
The case highlights how U.S. immigration authorities increasingly target non-citizens with criminal records, especially those convicted of violent or sexual offences, for expedited removal from the country.
