Monday Okpebholo, governor of Edo State, has hosted Seyi Tinubu and members of the City Boy Movement at the Government House in Benin City as part of the group’s South-South outreach.

During the meeting, Okpebholo described the movement as a well-organised youth-driven platform that deserves support across political and generational lines. He noted that its objectives align with efforts to build a more prosperous and stable Nigeria, expressing confidence that such initiatives can help reposition young people toward active participation in governance and nation-building.

The delegation, led by Seyi Tinubu—son of Bola Ahmed Tinubu—included youth development officials and movement leaders. Their visit to Edo marks the beginning of a regional mobilisation tour aimed at engaging young Nigerians, promoting policy awareness, and strengthening grassroots political participation ahead of 2027.

Okpebholo also used the occasion to reaffirm his support for Tinubu’s second-term ambition, stating that Edo aligns with the broader vision of the current administration. He added that organised youth movements like the City Boy Movement signal a shift toward more structured and impactful youth involvement in politics.

The group is expected to meet with youths across all 18 local government areas in Edo State before continuing its tour to other parts of the South-South region, as efforts intensify to mobilise support and deepen civic engagement among young Nigerians.
