\n\nThe Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has sealed off Paradise Estate in the Life Camp Extension area of Abuja over allegations that the developer failed to deliver houses to buyers despite receiving full payments. The action followed a surge of complaints from subscribers who claimed they had paid for homes but were yet to receive them years later. 
According to the commission, affected buyers had gone through its complaint and redress process, after which the developer was issued a compliance notice directing it to hand over the fully paid properties. The notice, served on February 24, 2026, gave the company seven days to comply, but the directive was reportedly ignored. 
Speaking during the enforcement exercise, an FCCPC official said the sealing of the estate became necessary after repeated non-compliance with regulatory directives, stressing that the action was carried out under provisions of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act (FCCPA) 2018. The commission maintained that the move is part of its mandate to protect consumers from exploitation, especially in Nigeria’s real estate sector. 
However, the real estate firm involved has faulted the action, arguing that the enforcement was unjustified. The dispute highlights growing tensions between regulators and property developers, particularly amid rising complaints over delayed or undelivered housing projects.
