President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a fresh set of appointments across key education agencies, in a move aimed at strengthening leadership and improving performance within the sector. The changes affect major institutions under the Federal Ministry of Education, including the National Examinations Council (NECO) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). 
As part of the appointments, Prof. Modupe Adeola Adelabu was named Chairman of NECO’s governing board, while the current registrar, Prof. Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, was retained to ensure continuity. For NBTE, Prof. Babatunde Salako was appointed as chairman, while Prof. Idris Bugaje continues as Executive Secretary following an earlier renewal of his tenure. 
In the polytechnic sector, the President appointed Dr. Bongfa Binfa as Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, N’yak-Shendam in Plateau State, for a single term of five years. He succeeds the institution’s pioneer rector, whose tenure recently ended. 
Tinubu also renewed the tenure of Prof. Chinwe Veronica Anunobi as Director-General of the National Library of Nigeria for another five-year term. The renewal is expected to ensure continuity in ongoing reforms, including efforts to modernise the library system and complete key projects. 
The Presidency stated that the appointments are part of broader efforts to strengthen governance, improve institutional performance, and sustain reforms across Nigeria’s education system.
