President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a cabinet reshuffle, removing the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, from the Federal Executive Council. 
Following the shake-up, the President appointed Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, effectively replacing Edun. In the housing ministry, Muttaqha Rabe Darma has been named as minister-designate, pending confirmation. 
The Presidency explained that the changes are part of efforts to improve coordination, strengthen governance, and enhance policy delivery under the administration. Officials added that all affected ministers have been directed to complete their handover processes within a specified timeframe. 
This development marks a significant adjustment in Tinubu’s cabinet, particularly in the economic team, with Oyedele’s elevation seen as a move to reinforce ongoing fiscal and tax reforms. Analysts say the reshuffle could signal a shift in strategy as the government seeks to stabilise the economy and improve performance across key sectors.
