The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has warned President Bola Tinubu that he should be concerned about his chances in the 2027 general elections, citing growing public dissatisfaction with current economic and security conditions. In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party argued that worsening hardship and declining living standards have significantly eroded public confidence in the administration. 
According to the ADC, many Nigerians are facing a severe cost-of-living crisis marked by rising food prices, increasing debt burdens, and reduced purchasing power. The party also pointed to persistent insecurity, including kidnappings and violent attacks, as evidence that citizens are becoming more frustrated with the government. It claimed that these challenges are shaping public opinion and could influence voter decisions in the next election. 
The opposition party further criticised the president for allegedly focusing more on political rhetoric than addressing urgent national issues. It described Tinubu’s recent comments about opposition figures as “unpresidential,” arguing that leadership should instead prioritise solutions to economic hardship and insecurity affecting millions of Nigerians. 
ADC concluded that the combination of economic struggles, insecurity, and what it described as weakening public trust in governance are key reasons the president should be concerned about 2027. The party insisted that many Nigerians are increasingly determined to seek alternative leadership if current conditions do not improve.
