The Student Union Government (SUG) of the University of Jos has urged students returning to campus to carefully plan their travel arrangements due to ongoing movement restrictions in Plateau State.
The advisory follows recent security concerns and curfew measures in parts of Jos, which have disrupted normal movement and academic activities. Students were previously evacuated from hostels and examinations postponed due to safety risks in the area. 
In its message, the SUG emphasized that students should factor in travel delays, restricted movement hours, and possible security checkpoints when returning to school. This is especially important for those coming from distant locations, as the restrictions could affect arrival times and access to the campus. 
Despite these challenges, academic activities are expected to resume, with the university maintaining a revised resumption date. The SUG also noted that while it pushed for further extensions, management retained the current schedule, urging students to prepare accordingly and remain vigilant. 
Overall, the union’s advice highlights the need for early travel planning, caution, and awareness of security developments, as students return to continue their academic sessions under tight movement conditions.
