The Nigeria Police Force in Lagos has arrested three suspected armed robbers during a routine night patrol operation in the Idimu area of Lagos State. The operation took place in the early hours of April 7, 2026, around 2:00 a.m., when officers on patrol intercepted the suspects near Car Wash Bus Stop by First Bank.
According to police reports, the suspects were riding on a motorcycle when they were stopped and searched by officers. Preliminary investigations revealed that they had allegedly been involved in a series of robberies targeting unsuspecting residents, often escaping using the same motorcycle. Items recovered from them reportedly included weapons, cash, and other belongings linked to their operations.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, described the arrest as part of the command’s ongoing efforts to combat crime and enhance public safety. He assured residents that patrols and intelligence-led operations would continue across the state to disrupt criminal activities and maintain security.
