A Nigerian woman, Joy Asiwaju, has received millions of naira in donations after a video of her joyfully showcasing her family’s uncompleted house went viral on social media. In the clip, she proudly described herself as a “landlady,” despite the building lacking basic facilities like toilets, fittings, and finished interiors, while expressing faith that the home would be completed.

The emotional video quickly gained traction online, drawing mixed reactions but also massive support from celebrities and the public. Nollywood actor Williams Uchemba, actress Tonto Dikeh, and music executive Ubi Franklin each pledged ₦1 million, while many other Nigerians contributed financially and materially, including offers to complete parts of the building such as installing water systems.

The story has since become a powerful example of social media-driven generosity, as construction efforts on the house have reportedly begun improving. Joy, a mother of three, had earlier revealed that her family moved into the unfinished building to escape poor living conditions in their former apartment, showing resilience and optimism that ultimately inspired widespread support.
