A minor disagreement over the purchase of garri and sachet water has escalated into deadly violence in Kokami village, Danja Local Government Area of Katsina State, leaving two people dead. The incident involved a man identified as Ibrahim Auwal and a trader known as Joe (also called K.C. Jones), whose altercation quickly spiraled out of control.

According to reports, the conflict began at the trader’s shop, where an argument broke out and one of the men allegedly stabbed the other. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later confirmed dead. The situation then worsened as angry residents reportedly took the law into their hands, leading to mob violence that claimed another life.

The Katsina State Police Command has since arrested four suspects in connection with the incident and restored calm to the area. Authorities condemned the violence, describing it as unfortunate and avoidable, while warning against mob justice and urging residents to resolve disputes peacefully as investigations continue.
