Troops of the Joint Task Force under Operation Enduring Peace have neutralised three suspected bandits during a security operation in the Karem community of Wase Local Government Area in Plateau State. The operation followed credible intelligence on the movement of armed individuals in the area, prompting troops to engage them and disrupt what was described as a large-scale movement of attackers on motorcycles. 
According to military authorities, the suspects attempted to flee after coming under heavy fire, but three were successfully killed during the encounter. The operation is part of intensified efforts by security forces to curb rising violence in Plateau, especially after recent deadly attacks in parts of the state. Officials noted that the success was aided by the deployment of additional troops and specialised counter-terrorism units. 
In a related development, troops also arrested two suspects in Jos North, who were allegedly impersonating security personnel while participating in attacks and destruction of property. Authorities said the arrests help dispel claims of military involvement in the unrest, revealing instead that criminals have been disguising themselves in uniforms to carry out violent acts. Investigations are ongoing as security agencies continue operations to restore peace in the region.
