Suspected bandits have killed at least five residents and three soldiers in a fresh attack on communities in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State. The assault, which targeted Mari and Dina communities, also led to the abduction of several women and children, according to local sources. 
Reports indicate that the attackers stormed the communities in a coordinated raid, unleashing violence and causing panic among residents. The incident has further heightened fear in the area, with many locals fleeing their homes amid growing concerns over safety and the increasing frequency of such attacks in the region. 
This latest violence adds to the worsening insecurity in Kwara State, which has witnessed repeated attacks by armed groups in recent months. Residents and stakeholders have continued to call for stronger security presence and proactive measures to protect vulnerable communities, as authorities intensify efforts to curb the rising wave of banditry.
