President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned visit to Iperu in Ogun State and will instead travel to Jos to commiserate with victims of recent attacks. The presidency announced that the decision was taken in response to the deadly violence in Plateau State, where gunmen killed several residents in fresh assaults. 
The president was initially scheduled to visit Ogun State to flag off operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport, a major economic project aimed at boosting trade and logistics. However, the worsening security situation in Plateau prompted a change in plans, with Tinubu opting to personally visit affected communities and engage with local authorities over the crisis. 
Following his visit to Plateau, Tinubu is expected to proceed to Lagos to observe the Good Friday holiday before returning to Ogun State later to carry out the postponed engagements. The development underscores growing federal attention on the Plateau killings, as pressure mounts on the government to address insecurity and provide relief to affected communities.
