Operatives of the Plateau State Police Command have arrested a suspected fake soldier in Jos amid the ongoing security crisis in the state. The arrest was made in Angwan Rukuba, a community recently hit by deadly attacks, as authorities intensify efforts to restore order in the troubled area. 
According to police authorities, the suspect was taken to the state headquarters and is expected to be publicly paraded by the Commissioner of Police, Bassey Ewah. The command confirmed the development and invited media coverage, indicating that further details about the suspect’s activities and possible motives would be disclosed during the briefing. 
The arrest comes at a time of heightened tension in Jos, where violence has persisted despite curfew measures and increased security deployment. With residents still on edge following recent killings, authorities say apprehending individuals impersonating security personnel is part of broader efforts to curb criminal activities and stabilise the region.
