President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent wave of killings in Plateau and Kaduna states, describing the attacks as “barbaric and unacceptable.” The incidents occurred in areas including Angwan Rukuba in Jos and Kahir village in Kaduna, where gunmen reportedly killed several people and abducted others, including wedding guests.

In a statement issued by his spokesperson, the president vowed that those responsible would be brought to justice, stressing that the attackers were “heartless” and aimed at triggering further violence. He directed security agencies to intensify operations, act on intelligence, and prevent misinformation that could escalate tensions, while also warning against framing the attacks along religious lines.

Tinubu also expressed condolences to the victims’ families and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening national security. He noted that efforts are ongoing to acquire more advanced equipment to help security forces track and neutralise criminals in real time, while urging public cooperation in addressing insecurity across the country.
