A youth leader in Plateau State has revealed that gunmen responsible for a deadly attack in Jos North arrived on motorcycles dressed in military-style attire, raising concerns about the sophistication of the assault. The attackers reportedly stormed the Angwan Rukuba community on Sunday evening, opening fire on residents and causing widespread panic, with eyewitnesses describing the operation as coordinated and deliberate.

According to residents, the assailants moved from house to house, killing innocent people and operating for several minutes before fleeing the scene. Some locals initially mistook the attackers for security operatives due to their appearance, which may have delayed immediate resistance or escape. Reports indicate that dozens of people were killed in the ആക്രമation, with many others injured and currently receiving treatment.

The attack highlights a troubling pattern of violence in Plateau State, where armed groups frequently use motorcycles and disguise tactics to carry out raids. Security experts warn that such methods, combined with ongoing communal tensions and weak rural security presence, continue to expose communities to repeated attacks, underscoring the urgent need for intelligence-driven operations and stronger protection measures.
