The management of National Hospital Abuja has clarified that it did not refer veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji to a private hospital, contrary to earlier reports. According to the hospital, the actor was brought in on New Year’s Eve in critical condition, admitted into the intensive care unit, and stabilised by medical staff before further treatment plans were initiated. 
Hospital officials explained that after stabilisation, Orji was moved through different wards as doctors prepared him for surgery. However, before the procedure could take place, his relatives reportedly signed a “Leaving Against Medical Advice” form and chose to transfer him to another private medical facility, effectively halting all preparations for his treatment at the hospital. 
The clarification was issued to correct widespread claims suggesting the hospital had transferred the actor due to incapacity. Authorities stressed that the decision was solely made by his family, while the hospital maintained it had provided adequate care and wished the actor a speedy recovery following the incident.
