The Federal Government has directed civil servants working at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja to work from home on Friday, March 27, 2026, ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The directive was issued through an official circular signed by a senior government official on behalf of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. 
According to the government, the decision is due to the planned closure of major access roads around the Federal Secretariat Complex, including Phases I, II, and III, as well as areas near Eagle Square where the convention will take place. Authorities stated that the large-scale political gathering requires heightened security and traffic control measures, making it impractical for workers to access their offices during the period. 
The APC convention is expected to attract thousands of delegates and party leaders from across the country, making it a significant political event ahead of future electoral activities. Government officials have instructed all ministries, departments, and agencies affected by the directive to ensure full compliance, as the move is aimed at maintaining order and minimizing disruption during the high-profile gathering.
