The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has opened a new investment opportunity for Nigerian startups developing technology-based solutions to local business and social challenges.
The agency is inviting investors, venture capital firms and financial institutions to connect with emerging Nigerian businesses through the Digital Nigeria Builders Festival 2026. The initiative is designed to give startups an opportunity to showcase their products directly to potential funders.
NITDA said the programme will focus on startups that are already addressing identifiable market needs, testing their products and building businesses with potential for expansion.
Rather than focusing only on traditional startup presentations, the agency is encouraging investors to engage directly with founders, understand the problems their businesses are solving and assess the solutions being developed.
Applications for the Builders Festival opened on September 26 and will close on October 16, 2026.
Selected startups will have the opportunity to showcase their businesses at the Digital Nigeria International Conference and Exhibitions (DNICE) 2026, scheduled to hold from November 10 to 12.
The festival is being organised by NITDA in partnership with Tech Revolution Africa and is expected to connect participating businesses with investors, venture capital firms and financial institutions.
The initiative comes as Nigeria’s technology ecosystem continues to expand, with local startups developing solutions across sectors including finance, agriculture, healthcare, education, logistics and commerce.
For founders, access to funding remains an important part of scaling technology businesses, while investors are increasingly looking for companies with clear market opportunities and solutions to real-world problems.
NITDA’s latest initiative is therefore aimed at creating a more direct connection between Nigerian innovators and the capital needed to grow their businesses.
