Imo State Governor and Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Hope Uzodinma, has dismissed reports that the group will be dissolved ahead of the 2027 elections. Speaking to coordinators and members in Abuja, Uzodinma said President Bola Tinubu had assured him that the organisation remained intact and would continue operating before, during and after the 2027 election.
Uzodinma explained that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the yet-to-be-used Presidential Campaign Council have different functions. While the campaign council would be established specifically for the election, he described the ambassadors as Tinubu’s “organic structure” for grassroots political mobilisation and promoting the administration’s policies and achievements. He said the group currently has structures across all 36 states, the FCT and the six geopolitical zones.
The governor also announced plans for a political summit in the third week of September, to be organised in partnership with the Progressive Governors Forum and local government chairmen. He said Tinubu and his running mate are expected to address elected and appointed political officials at the event, while urging members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to ignore rumours about the group’s dissolution and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of 2027.
